Delhi Gate in on the violet line.
The Delhi door (also known as the Delhi gate) was the city guard entrance on the southern side of the city of Delhi. This gate is located between the old Delhi area (Shahjahanabad) and the New Delhi area. It is situated on the edge of Daryaganj. This door was constructed by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1638 as the gateway to the guard wall of Delhi’s seventh city, Shahjahanabad. The king was using this gate to go to Jama Masjid to pray.
